computer tomography image Explanation: See my discussion entry. Nowadays veterinary medicine is more and more approximating human medicine and I would not rule out the use of sophisticated equipment in diagnosing livestock. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2011-03-14 22:25:58 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- I have translated a whole textbook on biomedical imaging and scans in nuclear medicine and had a highly laudatory approval from the agency registered on my WWA on Proz. Please believe me when I say that the Dutch word "sectie" is used for section in CT and other scanning techniques. I cannot give you excerpts from texts I have translated which are privileged. However, the following are a couple of examples found on Google: In het labo Biomedische Fysica werd een systeem gebouwd voor Virtuele, Fluorescerende Optische-Sectie Tomografie (VFOST) http://www.researchportal.be/project/elektro-optische-meette... Virtuele Fluorescerende Optische-Sectie Tomografie - Universiteit Antwerpen Faculteit Wetenschappen Departement Fysica BIMEF Thesis Samenvatting Barco Biomedische Electro-Optica Academijaar 2004-2005 Jan Buytaert http://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&q=cache:cDYGGNv86GUJ:www.n... etc. etc. Try googling the two words Tomografie and Sectie together and see what you come up with. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs (2011-03-14 23:05:39 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- A number of section images of mycoplasma infected lung tissue can be seen here: http://imaging.consult.com/imageSearch?query=mycoplasma&glob... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 11 hrs (2011-03-15 08:20:24 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- In light of the discussion, SECTION IMAGE will do nicely for captioning. Although I am sure that, in the 21st century, the farmer is not going to kill the pig and do an autopsy, this solution gets round the ambiguity. |
