Used for vegetables (chicory in this case). Only picture I can find of this is a bag made of what looks like bubble wrap, yet author defines kraakfolie as "technische term voor een folie die zich na het vacuümtrekken helemaal om de groente sluit."

Apparently keeping chicory at a high temperature (+12°C) and exposing it to light causes the yellow leaf edges to turn green.

Hetzelfde onderzoekscentrum heeft onlangs ook ontdekt dat witloof in flow pack beter houdbaar is. In deze verpakking liggen de kroppen naast elkaar in een kraakfolie. Bij hogere temperaturen en blootstelling [aan licht] trad groenverkleuring minder snel op.

Checked with the client, but the only response I got was to be sent the published version of this text, where "PP film" had been left unchanged. Silent confirmation then. PP film actually gets more hits than PP foil in this context, but it hardly seems fair to give someone else the points when your helpful answer pointed me in the right direction in the first place. I think that is what is meant by kraakfolie
Grappig kadotasje met een optisch multilens dessin. Het tasje is 25 cm hoog en wordt bij het opsturen ook nog eens een keer verpakt in doorzichtig kraakfolie en versierd met linten.
