Dutch to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Mechanics / Mech Engineering
Dutch term or phrase: sterk geprofileerd
"Sterk geprofileerde stapelprofielen." See: https://tolsmatanks.nl/energytender-2/energytender-basic/ for an image.

Context: "De sterk geprofileerde stapelprofielen bovenop de tank beschermen het verzonken deksel dat net als de profielen is vervaardigd van verzinkt staal."

I know what they mean, I'm just not quite sure how to say it. Any suggestions?

disagree  Henk Sanderson: Het zijn niet de profielen die stapelbaar zijn, maar de tanks

-> That's what I (too) was getting at with my answer. The stacking profiles of the tanks make them very stackable, which is why I used 'nestable' for some variation.

agree  philgoddard: This is a good idea that gets round the clumsiness of the Dutch.

disagree  philgoddard: You can't say "profiled profiles". It's like saying "square squares".
2 hrs
-> you can't say "squared squares" because the verb square does not allow for gradations, profile does.
