high-resisivity

Explanation:
The electrical impedance of water is referred to as resistivity or specific resistance.

-> "A microsiemens (µS) is a millionth of a siemens. The common convention in measuring high purity water, however, is to use resistivity in place of conductance.
Resistivity is the opposite of conductance. Mathematically speaking, it is the reciprocal of conductance. Resistivity, also called "specific resistance", refers to the capacity of a liquid to resist the flow of a current, and it is measure in ohms or megohmsºcentimeter."

-> "There are a growing number of laboratory and industrial processes that require low-conductivity/high-resistivity water. Maintaining high-purity water is crucial for these applications, yet many of those assigned the task of monitoring water quality fail to grasp the challenges involved."

agree  Kate Hudson (X): high-resistivity perhaps?
3 mins
  -> That'll be the one ;-)

disagree  sophos76: it's spelled wrong... resistivity ... and doesn't fit in the sentence = : ) perhaps 'highly resistant water'
3 mins
  -> Yes, resistivity is what I intended to write of course. Hoogohmig water = high-resistivity water. I fail to see how it doesn't fit; the term asked is a grammatical castaway on parenthesis island.

agree  Jack den Haan: Is also correct. At least if spelled correctly ;-)

agree  Chris Hopley: Of course. And your spelling is better than mine too ;-]
5 mins
  -> Thanks, Chris :-)

agree  Lianne van de Ven: sounds very new age too ;-)
33 mins
  -> Thanks, Lianne. I think the term has been around a lot longer than New Age, but if it has that ring to it then all the better. That might just be in keeping with the general context!
