Dutch term or phrase: calamiteitenstudio
This word appears in a text about a housing complex in which a couple of studios are intentionally left vacant to have availability in the event of double bookings. Any idea for an English translation? 'calamities' has a bit of a disastrous (pun intended) connotation in English, as far as I'm aware.

However, the university today released a statement indicating it was sticking by the company. The statement explained that 950 new student rooms would be ready for the start of term tomorrow (Saturday), adding that "as part of good project management" the university had retained 600 contingency rooms in existing accommodation blocks that would be used.

Explanation:
Dit is wat mij betreft een optie als de studio's inderdaad vooral bedoeld zijn om naar uit te wijken in geval van dubbele boekingen.
