Dutch term or phrase: Arbo Preventie Medewerker (APM)
De KAM (Kwaliteits- Arbo- en Mileu) coördinator is gecertificeerd Arbo Preventie Medewerker (APM) en doet indien nodig nader onderzoek naar een ongeval.

This sentence appears in a procedure on industrial accident and/or incident prevention and related reports.

I understand exactly what is meant but cannot find /verify the English translation. The word 'prevention' rather throws me here as the objective is clearly to promote HSE. Is it simply HSE Officer?

Many thanks in advance, Melanie

I'd probably add "preventiemedewerker" in brackets after it the first time it appears in yr text, thus:

"Occupational Health & Safety Officer (Preventiemedewerker)"

agree  philgoddard: It needs tweaking to avoid the repetition of "arbo" in the Dutch. "Preventie" refers to accidents, and is often mistranslated as "prevention" when it means safety.

agree  Tina Vonhof (X): I don't think it's necessaryadd anything in brackets but if you do, then give the complete Dutch term, including 'arbo'.
