Mitverbrennung (engl. Co-firing) bedeutet, dass in einer Verbrennungsanlage zusätzlich zum Haupt-Brennstoff anderes Material mit verbrannt wird. Ein Beispiel hierfür ist, dass in manchen Kohlekraftwerken ein Teil der Kohle durch Holz (auch in Form von Holzpellets), Klärschlamm oder andere Biomasse ersetzt wird
