الشتلة


Explanation:
The network of roots along with the attached soil, of any given plant.

A way of packaging saplings for transport in which they are carefully dug up with spade to keep a ball of soil around the roots. This helps broadleaved evergreens and larger conifers to take after planting. The soil ball around the roots may be held with a net or perforated container or basket which is removed at the time of planting. If root-balled plants have to be stored before planting, they should be stacked and covered with damp hessian for example.
