Food & Drink / confit'd down
English term or phrase: confit'd down
I have tuna dressing which I make with all our offcuts of tuna that are slowly confit'd down in some olive oil.

There is no real cooking here. Can we say, "marinated in olive oil?"

Thanks in advance,

agree  Saeed Najmi: agree only on محفوظة as it is the term that really renders ''confit'' adjective from the French verb ''confire'' as you point out.
