Telephone Interpreting:
It is when you do your normal dialogue interpreting in the comfort of your home, instead of being on-site face-to-face with both the professional & the client.
You see, there are various forms of telephone interpreting, none of them are as satisfying nor as effective as interpreting face-to-face. However, it is used because in some circumstances the telephone could be the only means available at the time of need.
Telephone Interpreting is used extensively in many western countries ahead of which is Australia and Great Britain.
In Australia there are few thousands interpreters in over 60 languages. A huge number of them is contracted as Telephone Interpreters.
