You asked "aortic cusp separation". In other words you asked how the aortic cusps are separated. I explained the problem. The cusps get stuck together, preventing the effective blood flow. The surgeon would separate the cusps allowing the blood to flow effectively. That was my answer. The other answer that you selected says "The distance between cusps of the aortic valve". This is not an answer to your question. This answer would have been correct if you had asked "What's the distance between the cusps during the heart contraction ". I don't mind if you give the points to the other peer. But, I am concerned about getting the technical term right. Which you based your answer on. I am looking at the question above. It says nothing about the distance between the cusps. it says, and I am copying and pasting the question, "aortic cusp separation". Which means the aortic cusps are not separated, i.e. they are stuck together preventing the effective blood flow. I am afraid you have answered to different question. About understanding the function of the heart and the aortic cusps, let me tell you that I have translated a whole document about the subject and I have at my disposal references in Arabic and English about the subject.
