See explanation Explanation: The phrase is written in bad English, so it needs more context to discern the intended meaning. There are two possibilities: 1. The author actually meant to say "referenced below", referenced herinunder", etc.; in which case, the translation would be: المشار إليه أدناه المذكور أدناه إلخ or 2. The author meant to say "the referenced underlying **something**", such as "the referenced underlying stock", "the referenced underlying agreement", etc.; but you cannot really guess what the underlying object would be, you have to find out. The translation here would be: الشيء الأساسي المشار إليه الشيء الأساسي المذكور where you replace الشيء by whatever object underlies the particular invesment instrument. Hope this helps. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 32 mins (2007-04-09 12:43:54 GMT) Post-grading -------------------------------------------------- hereinunder (not herinunder). -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs (2007-04-09 14:44:40 GMT) Post-grading -------------------------------------------------- http://www.secinfo.com/dr66r.v32u.htm It is important to reiterate that Reverse Exchangeables are not principal protected instruments. However in a falling market the Reverse Exchangeable will always outperform the referenced underlying by virtue of the coupon. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs (2007-04-09 14:47:41 GMT) Post-grading -------------------------------------------------- From the above note, there appears to be a convention where the term "referenced underlying" can be used without being a modified to an "object". Based on this, this would be the most likely meaning of your term. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs (2007-04-09 14:50:36 GMT) Post-grading -------------------------------------------------- I meant: withouth being a modifier to an object" |
