It will not make sense at all to translate the variants Explanation: All of these terms, as the passage clearly states, refer to one and the same object. They are used in different, obviously non-Arab regions. It would make no sense to invent an Arabic counterpart for each of these terms. You only need to name the object in Arabic once (in my hometown, Qatif, Saudi Arabia, we call it فانيلة تحتية بدون أكمام). All the English names stated in the passage need to be stated in English in your translation. Otherwise, your readers will completely miss the point of the passage. |
