Soldadura: Unió de dues peces de metall o de plàstic feta per fusió, amb aportació de material o sense, de manera que la zona d'unió sigui en tot moment homogènia amb les zones laterals més pròximes.

Forjar: conformar metalls per successives compressions entre dues superfícies dures o a cops de martell.
