If you haven't mentioned the drinks then you say:
Aquesta ronda (de begudes) la paguen ells!

neutral  xiquet: En aquest cas no fà referència una específica 'vegada'. It simply says 'drinks are on them', but nothing about 'this time'. We don't know if there has been a previous time. does it make sense? gràcies. ;p

  -> Tens raó però simplement dir "paguen ells" queda descontextualitzat en català. Com que abans havien demanat el mateix però "drinks are on me", vaig afegir-hi "aquesta vegada" ;)
