Consolidation has been happening vertical across virtually every software technology, vertical是补语, 其实就是纵向兼并, 与横向兼并相对, 为了照顾句子结构的平衡才放到最后的. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 10 hrs (2007-07-19 01:12:28 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- 看一下后半句"but"后的说明更可印证这一点. |

-------------------------------------------------- Note added at 10 hrs (2007-07-19 01:39:52 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- http://www.careerbuilder.com/JobSeeker/Jobs/JobDetails.aspx?... http://www.datashaping.com/jobs15527a.shtml Experience working in software/technology vertical required. |

Explanation: Here is the suggested meaning from my friend: Vertical ---> from the lowest level up to the highest.....or could be from basic to specialized According to the explanation, I would like to suggest that the software technology vertical is a stack where each higher level depends on what is under it, just like a ladder, you have to have the lower step before you go higher. The technology was built on the previous result. So, I think vertical could be translated as “全面”、“各∕每個層級”、”由基本層級到高層級”…Or may be you can figure out a specific term to explain this word. |
