Buddha in general has the capacity of transforming into three states, known as 三身 In Chinese, "manushi buddhas" is known as "應身佛" "Manushibuddhas- Human Buddhas with nirmana kaya, a body of transformation." "A Buddha who has (temporarily) taken the shape of a man in order to live and work in the world," out of compassion for the suffering of living beings. "應身是諸佛為度化眾生,實行四攝法而應現世間的色身,如釋迦牟尼佛之肉身."
