Now, it's not impossible that in your ST "Investigative Author" is used in some less frequent meaning, so more context would be really useful.
Another good example of an "Investigative Author":

The usual way someone gets to be called an "Investigative Author" has rather loose connection with what is an "autor istraživanja" (which would be simply "the author of the research", with different connotations attached). Can you give any indication what is this ST about? A scientific study published in a some science periodical? Is there only one author, or more? A full sentence?
