great coat je ono što se u JNA zvalo "šinjel" - kaput, ogrtač od (više-manje) nepropusne tkanine. Dakle osim od hladnoće štiti i od oborina. Po toj logici nastao je i moj prijedlog - zaštitna obuća.
Navlake koje sominjete navlače se na već obuvenu obuću i nazivaju se "galoche", a isto spadaju u vrstu obuće - footware
