bottom line costs

for posting more context so late but i've been having problems posting (adding note) on the site. I would appreciate any suggestion with respect to the term, as my client uses it quite often (another example: "the prepared company suffers less tax cost and impact on its bottom line".)

I think the "bottom line costs" might have a slightly different meaning here.

Here is more conext:
"...So what type of costs are involved? There will be both direct and indirect costs that will result from new tax situations on 1 May 2004. Some may be managed and avoided but mostly there will be a bottom line cost that businesses will have to manage upon accession.

In this context, I think it is more like "unavoidable cost"
