kugleventil Explanation: I believe this is the one you are looking for. It is the valve that automatically closes in the to stop back-flow of blood. In a artificial heart, there are several types of "ventiler" - kugleventil, vippeklap - 2-fliget ventil, og den biologiske "svineaortaklap". -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 19 mins (2005-03-24 15:42:25 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- forgot a word. Should read \"automatically closes in the heart to stop\" -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 7 hrs 33 mins (2005-03-24 22:56:33 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- I\'m sorry to see Sven\'s remark about \"kugleventil\" crushing the blood cells. This is a valve that is found in artificial hearts and is apparently NOT doing any damage, or it would not have been manufactured for artificial hearts. Please note the exchange about \"fligede ventiler\" as noted above in the remarks. |
