Als in: One of the objectives is therefore to draw attention of both politics and the public to the topic of the safety of fire places. The regular inspection and cleaning is important and should be legally incorporated.

Vraag klinkt misschien een beetje lullig en is wellicht meer een discussie, maar ik wil weten of er een algemene vertaling voor "fire places" in deze context is. De tekst gaat over de schoorsteenvegersbranche en werkveiligheid. Ik heb het woord tot nu toe vertaald als haarden c.q. kachels, maar zou je ook "verwarmingsinstallaties c.q. -apparaten" kunnen gebruiken, of is dat weer te breed voor deze context.

Ben benieuwd wat jullie denken.

agree  Kitty Brussaard: Uitdrukkelijk met 'haardsystemen'. Die kunnen inderdaad open of gesloten zijn. En zelfs gashaarden zouden er onder kunnen vallen, als dat de strekking van de bronterm mocht zijn. Mooi gevonden!
