Context: de EU wilde meer rechten in de Algemene Vergadering van de VN, maar dat is niet gelukt. Zelfs een aantal trouwe bondgenoten onthielden zich van stemming.

'shambolic" = wanordelijk, maar hier lijkt het eerder te gaan om een "verpletterende nederlaag".
