Encountered in a description of an ankle prothesis:

"The inlay is manufactured from polyethylene with titanium alloy boss and x-ray markers."

I am not sure what boss refers to in this context or how best to translate it. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Ik ben hier beslist niet zeker van, maar misschien heb je er toch iets aan.

(...) Er is een centrale "nok" op de tibiacomponent die de stabiliteit garandeert (...).

Bedankt, dit is wat ik me voorstel dat de 'boss' is inderdaad. Ik heb deze vertaling gebruikt met een duidelijke kanttekening dat ik eigenlijk niet genoeg context informatie heb.
