Nederland heeft wel duikboten, maar deze functie bestaat daar ook niet. Daar het de meest senior NCO (onderofficier) betreft, zou ik kiezen voor oppermeester-chef (in Nederland: adjudant-onderofficier, maar dat klink nergens naar, vind ik, eventueel sergeant-majoor gebruiken). Om het nog verwarrender te maken, zijn de graden van hoofdonderofficier dan ook nog eens wal- of staffuncties.
