Daarom vrees ik dat je het toch maar gewoon moet laten staan, ervanuitgaande dat de doelgroep hiermee minstens zo bekend is als met een vertaalpoging van deze term. Toch voor de zekerheid wel even aanstippen bij je opdrachtgever. |

| sub-time charter hire sub-timecharter Explanation: Er bestaat geen echte nederlandse uitdrukking voor en in de nederlandse scheepvaartwereld wordt dan ook gesproken over sub-timecharter (het wordt hier aan elkaar geschreven), eigenlijk betekent het onderverhuur. Het deel "hire" is in dit verband minder gebruikelijk en hangt helemaal af van de context en zou weleens goed kunnen worden weggelaten. Bij het ingaan of aflopen van het charter wordt "on-hire" en "off-hire" gebruikt, maar nederlandse puristen (en die vindt je niet veel in de scheepvaart) gebruiken weleens "op-huur", maar weer niet "van-huur" of "uit-huur". |
