English term or phrase: active craft
Gaat over een aangroeiwerende bootverf: "It is the ideal choice for racing yachts, powerboats and active craft." Worden hier letterlijk 'actieve' vaartuigen mee bedoeld?

actieve vaartuigen
Explanation:
Zout water is immers behoorlijk corrosief.

Inactive Boats
Not all registered boats were active in 1994. Active craft were defined as boats used in Michigan waters at least once in 1994. Boat owners were asked to check a box at the top of the questionnaire if their boat was not used in Michigan in 1994. About a quarter of all registered boats were inactive in 1994 (Table 6).

gebruiksvaartuigen

Explanation:

"Trilux 33 has a slow polishing rate at high speed preventing polish-through on fast, active craft"
http://www.chmarine.com/acatalog/International_hard_antifoul...

VC® 17m Extra
VC®17m Extra is a hard, high performance
antifouling with Teflon® that maximizes speed
and fuel efficiency, making it the ideal choice for
racing yachts, power boats and active craft.
Available in graphite, bright white and fluorescent
orange (for safety markings)
VC®17m Extra graphite is not suitable for use on
aluminium alloys and zinc sprayed surfaces
www.pinmar.com/.../PINMAR_07-08_catalogue_lo_res.pdf

An active craft seems to be a ship that is powered by something other than just human energy.
Windpowered in the olden days and now also engine-powered.
So passive craft would be those powered by humans, like the kayak mentioned in the second link.

Not sure, but just what I make of it. Hope it helps.
