English term or phrase: grace period
I am doing a translation about passport renewal and a reference is made to the "grace period". They mean with this the period after you passport has expired but you can still use it to travel to some countries. Anyone?

tolerantieperiode
Explanation:

Without prejudice to Article 12(a), the period of validity of the visa shall include an additional ‘period of grace’ of 15 days. Member States may decide not to grant such a period of grace for reasons of public policy or because of the international relations of any of the Member States.

neutral  sindy cremer: Any refs to support your reply? I ask because you are clearly not a native speaker of Dutch. Also, if you want to refer to certain language use, pls make sure that you use the correct wording - Jippie en Jannekes taal is plain wrong.

agree  Kitty Brussaard: Of 'coulanceperiode'.
