elevator effectiveness korkeusperäsimen tehokkuus/teho Explanation: Elevator in this case refers to the control surface which bends up and down at the tail of an airplane and controls how the airplane climbs up and dives down. In Finnish it is called korkeusperäsin. The elevator can be one surface or separated surfaces depending on the airplane design. Look under the heading empennage at http://www.americanflyers.net/aviationlibrary/pilots_handboo... This also shows the Finnish term: http://www.ilmailuliitto.fi/easydata/customers/ilmailuliitto... Wikipedia explains the issue further. Reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elevator_%28aircraft%29 |
