English term or phrase: County Borough of Preston
I am looking for a rendering of the above which appears on a birth certificate for someone born in the early 50s.
Preston is in the County of Lancashire.
The name 'county borough' is no longer used in that area.
Many thanks

county borough of preston
"County Borough" [Ville] de Preston

Explanation:
This is better left in English, with an explanation in brackets.

Ii would not be correct to refer to Preston as a "bourg" as it is now actually a city. It has a population of 114,300.

-> No, a "commune" in France is the smallest administrative unit of local government; this is not the case for Preston
