Pas dans le sens de flotter sur l'eau. D'apres le dictionnaire du cinéma
CAMERA FLOTTANTE: caméra comportant un dispositif de Steadicam (merci Kashew). Les déplacements sns heurts de l'opérateur donnent une impression d'ondoiement de la prise de vue.

neutral  Tony M: Similar idea, but Cameron's use of camera movement in 'Titanic' goes a long way beyond just Steadicam stuff, particularly in this sequence, where 'sweep' or 'swoop' lends a quite different effect.

"I wanted to shoot Titanic like a Terminator movie. I wanted it to have the subjective immediacy of my other films, like The Abyss or Aliens, where you're inside this thing. I wanted to put the audience inside the Titanic, so we used sweeping Steadicam shots moving through corridors. It's as if the Titanic really existed today and we could take it out to sea and fly around it with a helicopter, shooting with a Wescam or something like that to get these beautiful shots."

agree  Franck Le Gac (X): These comments seem to show that the camera itself is not what is "sweeping" but what allows sweeping movements (the Wescam is a stabilized camera).
