I think you're deliberately taking things out of context here; no-one ever said for an instant that 'accompagnements' couldn't include vegetables as well; but the fact is that the féculents are usually included in the overall 'accompagnements' section, perhaps unlike the practice in this anglophone restaurant.
It is relatively rare, in my experience, to see féculents and other légumes listed in separate sections on a FR menu, other than in a certain specific type of establishment. Equally, I doubt one often sees a 'potatoes' section on a FR menu — even though in EN we may break them down into finer categories, by and large in FR we don't.
And this has of course got nothing to do with kitchen recipes, which is a whole different field. |
