Je traduis un petit article consacré à un GPS portable (portatif?) et je ne trouve pas de traduction imagée de l'expression "come straight out of the box".

Voici le contexte dont elle est issue:

You can easily load maps via SD cards, and it also comes straight out of the box talking in Ordnance Survey grid references, rather than just coordinates, so you don’t have to return to your GCSE geography textbooks to get to grips with it.

You need to look at the whole expression, as any literal, word-for-word translation is bound to end up nonsense.

It simply means that as delivered, it is already set to use the rather more faimila and user-friendly (well, at least in the UK!) Ordnance Survey grid reference system, rather than the more unwieldy latitude / longitude (or any other) co-ordinates system.

agree  Daryo: ... use the same grid as printed OS maps, so you can easily use maps and the GPS at the same time without any need for constant conversions // otherwise the latitude / longitude system is ways simpler
