English term or phrase: edge-terminated
bonjour,

je n'arrive pas à trouver de correspondance en français pour le mot "edge-terminated" dans la phrase suivante :

"Edge features dual edge-terminated capsules for a smooth/natural sound reporducing the expressiveness and character of expensive classic microphones".

Un idée SVP ?

Merci par avance !

à condensateur
Explanation:
"On choisit souvent des microphones à condensateur pour leur réponse en fréquence très régulière et leur clarté dans les transitoires. La faible masse de la membrane permet une réponse en haute fréquence, tandis que son design garantit aussi une excellente sensibilité aux basses fréquences. La restitution sonore naturelle, nette et précise se caractérise par une parfaite transparence."

disagree  Tony M: 'terminated' here refers to the connections, nothing to do with the shape of the edges.

Asker: Merci encore, mon client m'a confirmé que c'était la bonne traduction ici.

disagree  Tony M: Strongly disagree! Although that happens incidentally to be the case, this is absolutely NOT what the source term actually means, technically. / The client has modified their source text, but this is NOT a translation of the actual term asked.

doté de connexions par le bord

Explanation:
Difficult to get much technical detail from the manufacturer, but while classic condensor mic designs commonly use rear connections to the capsule, because this is a double-sided (and apparently dual-capsule?) design, I assume that is not an option, so they have brought the connections out to the edge of the capsule(s); it seems to me they are treating this technical 'necessity' as if it were some advantageous 'feature'

-> Well, this is technically a very literal term; what can you suggest instead that means the same?
