English term or phrase: re-assignement

disagree  Francois Boye: Re-assignment means that the property/right previously alienated is returned to its owner. This is a retrocession in French or English

neutral  Daryo: you got it in part right: that would work fine for "assignment" but here it's "re-assignment" // ré-endossment?

Réallocation

Explanation:
Synonymes : soutien, pension, assistance, provision, prestation, subside, subvention, https://www.linternaute.fr/dictionnaire/fr/definition/alloca...

Explanation:
re-assignment is the opposite of assignment as defined below. This means that the property/rights previously alienated gets returned to its owner.

In French, this is called 'rétrocession'

RÉTROCESSION, subst. fém.

A. − DROIT

agree  Adrian MM.: - even if this 're-assign/e/ment' is a translation back into pidgin ENG of a *ré-assignation* and in fact refers to the 'underlying debt' of the note (e.g. co. shares transferred back to holders and as re-assigned choses in action)
2 hrs
  -> Thanks!

disagree  Daryo: HERE "re-assignement" means no more than the promissory note being "assigned again" to any third party not necessarily "back".
