English term or phrase: Isle of Man
Ineed a translation of Manx, or isle of Man to describe a Manx cat in French. I knoew the alternative name is Mona's Isle.

Explanation:
will be the correct translation BUT be careful, the peculiar thing about a Manx cat is that it has NO TAIL !!!!
So the above may be the literal translation but you will also need to consider whether the point being made it just that the cat comes from the Isle of Man or whether you need also to specify that it is tailless ! (un chat sans queue - no double entendre intended!)
Don't you remember the old one about: What happens when you pick up a Manx cat by its tail?
Answer: it's eyes fall out (of course, you can't pick it up by a non-existent tail!)
