Thankfully, the trip through Mt. Polis was uneventful. We arrived at Banaue and took some more pictures there. On the way out of Banaue, we got to pass by the corner of the road where the biggest mother landslide of them all happened last year, when we dared to go there during a stormy season. The marks of that landslide was still there.

Il me semble évident que 'mother' est utilisé ici dans un sens populaire qui date de la première guerre du golfe lorsque Saddam Hussein a dit, ou au moins c'était rendu en anglais par 'The Mother of all battles'. Depuis cette époque on entend souvent 'mother' avec le sens 'énorme'

Je reviens sur mon explication (plutôt - 'the mother of' ou 'a mother'). Je crois que Francis a raison! C'est le tremblement de terre qui a cause l'éboulement - les autres glissements ont été causés par les répliques.
