English term or phrase: dyke rock
Hello!

I have a translation to make from chinese into french. I used the website www.nciku.com for specific, scientific terms. I came across this one : Dyke rock. The problem is that i cant find any definition of it, even in english, so i cant translate it. Does it even exist? Nciku might have given an approximative translation which is not correct.

Context: Three gorges dam lithology (in China).

That's the geological definition. Asker's question may simply be general: the rock used in constructing the dyke - easy to translate!
