In the late 18th and early 19th centuries, the eastern United States were systematically cleared of their aboriginal peoples. It was not only after the Civil War however, that attention turned to the Plains Indians and the conflicts that so engaged Hollywood began.

J'ai un doute. Hollywood existait-il déjà à cette époque? Est-ce une référence plus large aux USA???
