Interestingly enough "workprelief program" in Wikipedia is rerouted to "work creation program". By the way, it should be hyphenated. "Job creation program From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (Redirected from Work relief program)<:b> Job creation programs are programs or projects undertaken by a government of a nation in order to assist unemployed members of the population in seeking employment. They are especially common during time of high unemployment. They may either concentrate on macroeconomic policy in order to increase the supply of jobs, or create more efficient means to pair employment seekers to their prospective employers." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Work_relief_program -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 day6 hrs (2010-09-14 06:54:07 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- ceci n'a ... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 day6 hrs (2010-09-14 06:59:33 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Maybe before making comments about other people's answers it would be interesting to check the document source: "The early days of New Deal excavations in Somerset County These FERA excavations did not go unnoticed in Pennsylvania. Cadzow was soon charged with obtaining work relief funds to excavate 'key' areas, including Somerset County. Somerset County was selected partly because the American Indian history of this region was poorly known, but largely because prominent citizen Flora Black lived in the county. Using funds from the Civil Works Administration (CWA), Black interviewed farmers about possible archaeological sites they had encountered in their fields (Means 1998, 2000a & b)." Answerer would then realize that he is wrong because the text DOES refer to the use of New Deal funds meant to create jobs, to pay for archaeological digs in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. QED |
