Est-ce que "clause de prescription" peut convenir ici ?

This additional cover is generally known as extended reporting period.
On the other hand, there is considerable retrospective liability which may be limited by the use of a Retroactive Date.
A retroactive date acts as a *time limiting provision* in the “claims made” policy.

Explanation:
Je pense que cette phrase réfère au début du contrat (retrospective liability/ on the other hand). On ne parle plus de la clause d'extension en fin de contrat mais du délais de carence qui sert à éviter de couvrir les problèmes antérieurs à la signature du contrat.
