Explanation:
Normalement, "flattened" est utilisé pour dire que l'on "aplati" une structure hierarchique. Par exemple, si l'on a un livre fait de plusieurs chapitres, chacun dans un fichier appelé depuis un fichier maître, on "flatten" l'ouvrage en un seul fichier. Pareil pour un site web avec des iframes, etc. Ici, nous avons un texte principal, et des annotations qui sont probablement des commentaires en marge ?

Dans ce contexte, je pense que le verbe insérer est le plus approprié.

disagree  Daryo: yes, but there is an additional "nuance": there will be no indications where are the modifications *as opposed to* you add edits (they are "inserted") BUT also mark them so you can see where they are - then the text would not qualify as "flattened text"!

agree  Daryo: the only problem: "aplati" relates to the whole new file while " flattened into" relates to the edits, not the final file, so a rewording of the sentence would be needed.

  -> When you flatten a file, you are integrating all the layers it contains into a single, inseparable unit. So, "aplati" relates to both the edits and the final file. The process can be repeated, but cannot be undone, so it's safer to save it as a new file.

  -> It doesn't matter whether it's an image or text. If I insert a text box on a construction drawing or other pdf, it's a layer and I then flatten the file so added layers become an integral part of the pdf file.
disagree  Nicolas Gambardella: I do not think this is the same thing. The different elements are not on the same level. This is a hierarchy that is transformed into a structure on a single level. The layers in photoshop are all on the same level, and the result is too.

  -> No, if the layers in the pdf or photo being edited were on the same level, that would be a mess. You must have some brought forward and some sent back. When flattened, only the front information is retained and there there is only a single layer.
