Is a litteral translation correct here?
Hotel booking system.

As we learned from our 5 stages of bookings report, the hope of restrictions easing on the horizon brings a flurry of bookings.
Whether it’s to reconnect with friends and family, relax and recharge after the stress of lockdown, or just get a change of scenery, the desire to travel - and to do so soon - will be high.

While it’s important to think about how you can convert the demand that’s coming your way, it’s equally as important to focus on increasing your revenue per booking.

convertir la / cette demande (en commandes fermes)
Explanation:
There is absolutely nothing wrong with "convertir la demande" - no need whatsoever to indulge in obsessively "avoiding a literal translation" - just because it's a literal translation does not make it automatically wrong!

If "conversion rate" (from potential interest to sale) is called "taux de conversion", why would anything be wrong with "convertir la demande"?

disagree  Daryo: CL5 is grossly overoptimistic, especially the way you formulated it + where do you see any % mentioned in this text?

-> X and Y are for the explanation. I have been doing Revenue Mangement for airlines between 2000 and 2017... I maintain my translation EN to FR : "matérialiser la demande"

disagree  Daryo: you propose 4 days later the same translation as mine, but with a "context-free / free-floating" explanation that has very little to do with this specific text.

disagree  Tony M: Would translate 'meeting demand', and as such, is a quite different meaning

-> Hello @tony, yes I agree it would better translated I am suggesting it because it seems to me that it is like 'there is a demand coming our way, we need to meet it to convert it into bookings/revenue'. But that may not be the point indeed.
