English term or phrase: gradient
"This is true for all types of insurance, though there is a greater income gradient in the proportion of respondents possessing and X insurance card compared to a Y card. (ie the proportion of respondents possessing X cards increases at a greater rate across quintile groups than the proportion of respondents possessing Y cards)"
Does anyone know what "gradient" is in this context. Can I translate by "courbe des revenus", or is it something different?
Merci d'avance.
