se poursuivait Explanation: It just means 'continued', I can't say any deeper technical meaning to it here. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 heures (2014-09-09 21:39:48 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- It might almost be as if the speaker intended to say 'carried on'; maybe there was a slight idea in the back of their mind of the action in some way 'carrying' the story along... I think either of these could be a plaudible reason for their particular choice of term here; I am not aware of its having any more specific technical implication, nor can I imagine what one might be intended (or indeed needed) in this fairly straightforward description. |
