This is the same document, about the sterilization of dentistry handpieces. I made a search through the kudoz glossary and found "embout" as translation for "handpiece". I am just double checking.

There is a sufficiently high number of Google hits to make me thing this is indeed perhaps at least one term used officially.

Whatever, I am more convinced than ever that 'embout' would not be right in this context.

There is a sufficiently high number of Google hits to make me thing this is indeed perhaps at least one term used officially.

Whatever, I am more convinced than ever that 'embout' would not be right in this context.

neutral  Tony M: But that too is too general, F-X -- it could refer to a little mirror, or any one of those other 'instruments of torture' ;-) The handpiece refers specifically to the drill (onto which the 'fraises' can be fitted).

This similar Wiki article actually does mention 'pièce à main', which sounds like a clumsy, too-literal translation of the EN term; but perhaps not?
