Cela fait un peu administratif, mais c'est ce que fait un généraliste en orientant le patient vers un spécialiste ou un kiné en donnant l'adresse d'un ostéopathe, le terme est même officiel:

Le patient est alors orienté vers les médecins correspondants sans passage par le médecin traitant.

Si on prend la phrase dans l'autre sens on peut dire "recommandé" pour le médecin plutôt que "orienté" pour le patient
