ici, je suggère la gangrène car c'est plus l'expression française. Blight, c'est une maladie de la patate qui ravage les récolte et qui a causé des famines (dans les années 1840 en Irelande par exemple). En anglais, il s'agit aussi de quelquechose qui ennuie, provoque le désespoir et la destruction. Dans ce context, cela se rapporte à "ugliness, disorder and decay" et c'est pour cela que je suggère: la gangrène.
