However confidential your context, you shuld be able to give us a neutral anonymized sentence or two to show us exactly hos the term is being used; or at worst, make up a similar sentence that uses it in the same way. The expression is perhaps more commonly found as "if truth be told" (whioch does not necessarily per se imply that it isn't — or at least, not in any deliberately dishonest way. Writing it thus without a preceding 'if' seems to suggest it might be being used at the beginning of a sentence, and also hints at a more conversational style of text. |
