the approach trombone Warteschleife Explanation: wild guess ! -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 13 mins (2005-08-31 16:49:22 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- ich hab hier ein englisches pdf-Dokument gefunden, wo es im Zusammenhang mit Luftfahrt um "trombone" geht: http://hosted.nlr.nl/public/hosted-sites/hybridge/documents/... hab aber leider keine Zeit, es mir selber genauer anzuschauen ... vielleicht hilft's ? Viel Glück ! |

the approach trombone die Anfluggeometrie Explanation: Vielleicht ... Fig. 3. Several trajectory realisations of an approach maneuver (altitude is expressed in feet and plan coordinates are expressed in meters). nmi from the beginning of the runway and at an altitude of 1000 − −1500 ft, so that they can follow a 3◦− −5◦ glide path to the runway. This approach geometry (which is referee to as the “trombone”) is advantageous to air-traffic controllers as it allows them great flexibility in spacing aircraft by adjusting the length of the downwind leg. http://tinyurl.com/7u6zt The second type of standard flow emerges as a result of common practices, or standardized but unpublished patterns of operation. An example is the typical “trombone” vectoring sequence used to merge aircraft onto final approach.5 Other examples include personal techniques or unofficial standard practices specific to the sector. ... 5“Trombone” vectoring refers to the practice of flying aircraft downwind, parallel to the landing runway, before two consecutive 90 degree turns align it with the runway. http://tinyurl.com/89yog Der Vergleich der Messwerte zeigt klar, dass die Differenz zwischen den Pegeln am Messpunkt Melchrüti (Nov.03) und Messpunkt Steinacker (Mai/Juni 04) überraschend gross sind.

the approach trombone See Katrin's link Explanation: Katrin's link says (on page 10): This approach geometry (which is referee to as the “trombone”) is advantageous to air-traffic controllers as it allows them great flexibility in spacing aircraft by adjusting the length of the downwind leg. So, you may wish to just call it the "standard aircraft approach geometry" Good luck. |
